ON DEPUTATION TO ENGLAND

Andrew 2/15

My parents Dave and Marybeth Solt landed in England in the fall of 1996, and a few months later I was born. At the age of four, I recognized my sin nature, and asked God for salvation…a few years later I followed Christ’s example through baptism. While growing up, I was privileged to join in multiple ministries with my parents from church planting to teen activities and children’s programs.

After graduating high school, I enrolled in Hyles-Anderson College with the goal of developing a media career. It was during the missions conference my freshman year, God spoke to me, and revealed His perfect plan for my life. Matthew 14:17-19 says, “…We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me…” Christ’s response to Andrew turned my plans upside down. Following His lead, I surrendered my life to him, changed my college major to missions, and began the path to serve Him full time in the mission field.

Rachel was born and raised in the beautiful state of Montana. At the age of seventeen, after hearing her youth pastor teach a lesson on Hell in Sunday School, Rachel got her salvation settled. She surrendered her life to the Lord in 2014 at a summer teen camp while hearing a sermon on the will of God. It was also the same year that she felt God leading her to attend Hyles-Anderson College.

God brought us together during our first semester of college, and a few months after graduation we got married. Together with Rachel, I have served in the bus ministry of FBC as a captain, CDL trainer, and junior church superintendent leading up to deputation. In the fall of 2021, we visited England together for the first time as a family, and God solidified His calling on our lives to return as full-time missionaries.

Upon returning to England, we will be serving at my father’s church in Preston, England, a city with a surrounding population of over 200,000 people. Lord willing, we plan on building a children’s program and teen department, along with participating in outreach, discipleship, media efforts, and establishing a Bible institute. We are excited about and looking forward to the new opportunities God has in store for us once we have adjusted to being on the mission field as a family.

  • Daniel and Rachel Solt Prayer Letter: Settling InGreetings from “across the pond”! By God’s grace, we arrived safely in Preston, England, on April 26. Thank you to those who prayed for this day to come. Praise the Lord!

Before our departure, we took a brief eleven-day journey across the U.S. for two Missions Conferences. Our first stop was at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Horseheads, New York, where we enjoyed a wonderful mission revival alongside a few dozen regional pastors—what a blessed week! We then headed west to Pasco, Washington, spending a few special days with Riverview Baptist Church. Their pastor, John Paisley, is always a joy to be around. Please pray for him as he recovers from a heart attack that occurred on April 23.

After our travels, we returned to Florence, Montana, to wrap up final preparations for our move to England. After heartfelt goodbyes to our Montana friends and family, we flew to Indiana to visit our sending church, First Baptist Church of Hammond, and our missions agency. Then on April 25, we departed from Chicago and safely arrived nine hours later in Manchester, with both children and all our luggage—praise the Lord! We are especially grateful for my brother, “Uncle Josh,” flying with us; an extra set of hands made all the difference in moving across the world. We were warmly welcomed at the airport by my dad and a kind couple from our church, who helped us back from the airport. We are currently living with my wonderful parents, who are more than willing to help with the grandchildren!

    Soul Report

While out on bus visitation in Pasco, Washington, I met Hilda, who had heard the Gospel before but had never called upon Christ. After sharing the example of the thief on the cross, she bowed her head and received Jesus—hallelujah! In England, Emmanuel sat down with me after a Sunday night service and accepted Christ. Praise the Lord for fruit added to your account from two continents this month! Over March and April, we witnessed to six people, with two choosing to trust Christ.

Family & Ministry Update – “Settling In”

We’ve been considering a Honda eight-seater minivan for both our family and ministry and are praying for clarity in the days ahead. Also, please pray for God’s will on our housing situation, as we await approval on a rental home. The church warmly welcomed us, with many sharing their excitement for what the Lord has in store. On May 24, we will host a joint teen activity with Landmark Baptist Church from Parkersburg, West Virginia, leading into the launch of our teen church time the next day. In the past few months leading to our arrival, our church has remodeled a storage room to be used as a studio. It is our desire to use this studio to spread the Gospel and train laborers. More will be shared on this soon! Thank you for sending us to reach these people. There is an obvious hunger for more of the Word! You can still reach us through our U.S. phones, our WhatsApp (+12193169058), Facebook, and our emails.

    For His glory,

Daniel, Rachel, Ruby, and Andrew Solt
