As 2018 is coming to an end, we want to thank God for the incredible year that He has allowed us to have. We want to thank Him for all the lessons we have learned and for all the different situations we have been in, but most of all, we want to thank Him for continuing to use us here in Tanzania. We are always grateful for the opportunity that we have to serve the folks here and pray that we will continue to do more in the upcoming years. We pray that you all had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed good food and fellowship with family and friends. We want to thank you all for the Christmas cards and greetings that we have received. Thank you for taking the time to think of us, write to us, and then mail the card/letter to us. We always feel so spoiled.
We had a Kids’ Day on November 17. We never really know how many kids will show up. We had different bus routes pick up the kids, and the event started at 10:00 a.m. We got a phone call at 8:00 a.m. informing us that there were 110 kids already waiting at one of the stops. It’s always good to have involvement. The kids came, and we divided them up into teams by giving them different colored strips of fabric. Over 550 kids later, we had run out of strips, so we said, “Okay, kids, for those of you who don’t have a strip, you all are the clear-color team. Let’s hear it for the clear-color team!” It worked. We had great weather and great participation. The Gospel was preached, and 87 kids trusted in Christ that day. I am grateful for our GBC folks who came to help cook and work the different stations. They all worked hard to make the day run smoothly.
For the month of December, we have our Christmas Day service planned, where everyone will be eating on the grounds. This year, instead of giving each family a bag of rice, we will cover the entire meal, along with one wedding. My parents are getting married, and I’m grateful that I can perform the ceremony. It should be a great day together, celebrating the birth of our Saviour.
Prayer Requests
• We need to put a ceiling in at our church. The heat is coming down, and it is almost acting like a distraction because it is so hot. Please pray as we try to raise the $2,500 needed for this project.
• God has blessed us with Baby # 2 on the way, due in June. Pray for the health of both mommy and child.
• Pray that we can continue to grow as a church and that the Devil will not have his way. Pray that we will stay “healthy” spiritually.
We want to take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We pray that you will have safe travels if you are traveling, and if you are staying in the area, we pray that you will stay safe as well. Enjoy your time together. If you all have different church activities, have fun, and make great memories. We love and appreciate you all very much.
Merry Christmas,
Mshama, Martha, & Esther Kinyonga
