Josh was able to come home for the summer. He helped with visiting and soul winning, and we delivered over 4,000 John and Romans to the doors. Josh was a key worker during our Vacation Bible School, with 28 children registered, 11 salvation decisions, and great crowds on Sunday. God blessed! It is very good to see fruit from Josh’s summer in the children now attending regularly.
Daniel stayed at the college to work and run his bus route on the weekends. He also assisted with junior camp, teen conference, and Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church. We know that these opportunities to learn and grow will help Daniel’s future service for Christ.
Jeremy is a willing worker at church, the one called on to do all the lifting and carrying. He is also our part-time Sunday pianist and plays for the Wednesday night Bible study. Now a junior in homeschool, Jeremy anticipates following his brothers to Hyles-Anderson College. To see our kids living their own Christian faith gives us hope for the next generation.
Sowing and Reaping
It was a hot, dry summer in England. The good weather was a great opportunity to get out and meet new people, and we certainly took advantage of it. Right now, we are at 108 salvations, and 110 people have visited our church so far this year. We expect a record year for visitors. Please be in prayer that more will decide to become a part of the church family. We pray for young folks who will plug into God’s work, as our older members get closer to Glory. So far this year, we have had four funerals for dear saints of God. Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain! How thankful we are for the blessed assurance we have in Christ.
Getting Ready for Autumn
So much is planned for the days ahead: training new soul winners, encouraging converts for baptism, studying God’s word together, sharing messages on Sunday, having special harvest and Thanksgiving services, cleaning the church, and doing building maintenance. All is part of the work God has called us to in this needy land.
Thanks so much for your prayers and financial support. On the 23rd of August, we celebrated 25 years as missionaries with FBMI, sent out of First Baptist Church of Hammond. I’m thankful that the church there goes on under the wise and godly leadership of our dear friend, Pastor John Wilkerson. It’s a joy that Hyles-Anderson College is still going strong!
Yours for souls,
