“Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.” (I Chronicles 29:13) As we reflect on 2025, we’ve much for which to be thankful, especially for what God has done over the past couple of months. We are always in awe when we look back and see how God has provided, and we are reminded time after time that little is much when God is in it. Our church’s first Youth Camp and Sixth Anniversary Service were amazing. Now we are in preparations for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. May God touch many hearts all around Thailand and the world during this Christmas season. The first Saturday of every month, we treat the faithful children we pick up for church with a special drink or snack. For a few months, there had been talk of wanting to go out for pizza. Wut told them to pray that God would provide the money. While Tiffany was in the USA, she met with a friend who used to live in Thailand and served in the church with us. This friend gave her money to treat the children to pizza, not knowing that the children had been hoping and praying for this treat for quite a while. They were ecstatic when we took them to the pizza restaurant. What a wonderful teaching opportunity it was to show them that God answers our prayers, even if it’s a desire and not a need.
Youth Camp 2025
We had a mix of campers. Some have only been attending church for a year or less, while others have been coming for several years. The theme was “Finding the Great Treasure.” It was a joy to see them change from Day 1 to Day 4. Over the four days, the children bonded over team sports and activities, learned and practiced walking with God every morning, memorized an entire chapter of Proverbs, were encouraged to seek answers they have about life, and heard great teaching and preaching from God’s Word twice a day. Some of the children battled spiritual warfare. Being conscious of the spiritual world is impressed upon the Thai people’s minds from the time they are little, and even as they learn to trust in God, they still struggle with fear of displeasing the spirits. Growing up around so many superstitions, losing these habits and fears is something that will take a long time for them to overcome. One girl caused all of her roommates to become paranoid because she was sure she was sick with a fever because of displeasing the spirits by sleeping in the wrong direction. We counselors had no idea that there was an old abandoned spirit house outside behind their room. In another room, two girls had their other roommates afraid because they’d sensed “ghosts.” By Day 3, everything was going a lot smoother. It was really special to see the campers work hard on memorizing Scripture, gather in groups to pray and read the Bible together, grow in spiritual understanding, and become united and not grouped in clicks. Several weren’t sure about salvation and got their questions answered. Many decisions were made, and hearts were touched.
San Sai Church’s Sixth Anniversary
Due to our late Queen’s passing, Thailand is under a mourning period. Celebrations are to be toned down a bit, and we had to adjust our plans. Instead of combining both churches to celebrate, we only invited local neighbors, friends, and family. During Saturday youth group, the teens are learning how to share the Gospel and invite people to church. After training class, we take them to a neighborhood to invite the people to church to talk to them. The teens were so excited from the response of those they’d go to talk to. Around 80 attended, including some visitors who’d attended last year’s Christmas service and friends and family of church members. The youth who have been learning to play different instruments before Sunday evening church gave specials. Some parents came to celebrate and watch their children play. After the service, everyone enjoyed a potluck dinner and listened for their ticket number to claim their raffle gift. Several children who attended came to our Saturday program and church the following week. Also, an auntie who came for the first time returned for Sunday evening church.
Thank you for your continual prayers and support. We wish you a Merry Christmas and pray your church’s celebrations will bring many to know our Saviour.
God bless,
Teerapat and Tiffany Phaisarnpiwat
