We know that times are very busy with the school year coming to a close and the transition into summer. God has kept us busy on the road with several missions conferences and open doors for meetings. We have also been busy preparing our belongings to be shipped. We are excited to let you know that our belongings have been shipped and are now making their journey to the Philippines! NO TURNING BACK! We are currently at 41% of our support. We are so grateful for the new financial partnerships gained over these last two months. We are anticipating, by faith, the remaining support to come in before January 2017.
God has opened doors for meetings and testimonies for our Lord Jesus Christ. One particular Wednesday evening, we planned to drop in for a prayer meeting, but when we showed up, there was no one there, although the sign showed a scheduled midweek service. We decided to continue searching in the area for a church. After driving for nearly an hour, we came across an old-fashioned Baptist church that was open and having a service. God turned that drop-in into a meeting, after which, they decided to take us on for support. What an awesome testimony of how God rewards faithfulness. Here are a few highlights of other great testimonies that we would like to share from our recent travels.
While in Canada for a missions conference, my wife’s mother and nephew were able to join us. We had the opportunity of visiting Toronto and the privilege of enjoying a free private tour of the Toronto Raptors’ stadium. While on this incredible tour, we had the honor of leading two people to Christ who were responsible for allowing us to have this special access to the Raptors’ stadium.
At the same missions conference, we learned of a Filipino man who had visited Bicol, Philippines, around February 2013 with his good Canadian friend and soul winner who loved the Filipino people. While they were in Bicol, the Canadian man became overwhelmed with the need of the Gospel for this region and begged God to send laborers to this place. This man died in May of 2013. It was that same month and year that my wife and I were in Bicol, Philippines, where God confirmed His call on my life to start a church in that place.
Also while in Canada, we had the unique opportunity to do Jewish outreach where my wife’s mother and I knocked on doors and were allowed to enter a Jewish synagogue, and we were able to give a complete set of the Bible to a Jewish lady who is also secretary to the Rabbi.
Back in the States during another missions conference while out soul winning, my wife and I met a very religious Catholic family. I shared my testimony with them and God’s plan of salvation. The mother received Christ as her personal Saviour, realizing that her sin debt had already been paid. She and two of her children attended our home church with us on a Sunday evening.
Praise God for the amazing open doors! We also praise God for our faithful friends and supporters! This is truly fruit that will abound to your account in Heaven. Please continue to pray that God will continue to use us for His glory and for the support to continue to come in that we may reach the goal of Bicol, Philippines, by January 2017.
In Christ’s service,
