Busministrynetwork.com, which Dr. Ray Young is heading up, is to make you aware of resources that will aid you in your Bus Ministry. It will have information on obtaining a CDL, how to get a bus for your church, available Bus Conferences, where to get bus parts, and how to support ministries. We are praying for a Bus Ministry revival in America.
Buses Worked On
In Michigan, we worked on seven buses, several with electrical problems and DPF regen problems. One bus had been down with fuel problems for several months. I found rusted-out fuel lines. We replaced broken roof hatches. One bus needed batteries. I always price shop bus batteries at big-truck dealerships and never pay over $75 to $90 each. In Indiana, we did DOT inspections and repairs and put one bus back on the road. We repaired a mini-bus that was overheating and a bus that died occasionally, which had dirty battery connections and weak batteries. We found batteries for $72 each at a Kenworth dealership. To God be the glory; great things He hath done!
Jesus Saves
Since our last letter, we have seen Jesus save eight precious souls. Another Vitamin Shoppe employee trusted Jesus as his Saviour while there were no other customers in the shop. God is so good to keep others away while we witness. While out visiting with a bus captain, I saw four teen boys standing across the street. The bus captain was leading a lady to the Lord when the boys started to cross the street. To intercept them, I went over and handed each of them a tract. To my surprise, they received them warmly, so I proceeded to witness to them. Three of them received Christ as their Saviour, and the fourth one was already saved. He was a bus kid. I was able to get a picture with them. When we said goodbye, one of them came back and gave me a big hug.
Prayer Requests
(1) Pray for Marco and Lauretta Hannel and their Keep the Buses Going Ministry, as they raise support and help churches with their Bus Ministries, and for the other nine bus mechanics preparing to become missionaries to the Bus Ministry.
(2) Pray for the Baptist churches to increase or start Bus Ministries and that the younger men and women would step up to become bus captains and bus workers.
(3) Pray for a church-bus body-and-paint man to surrender as a missionary to the Bus Ministry.
(4) Continue to pray for us as we head south for the winter, fixing buses in Florida and the southern states.
