Henry and Tammie Gonzalez Prayer Letter: RevivalBible Clubs, Soul-Winning Programs, and Baptisms

During the last two months, our local church has seen an average of 26 people soul winning on a weekly basis. These soul winners and Bible Club workers have seen a total of 106 souls saved. These are weekly ministries where the people faithfully serve. We have had 7 baptisms this year. We praise the Lord for this.

Each week, we hold 2 neighborhood Bible Clubs. We bring people from both of these neighborhoods to church on Sunday mornings. On Wednesday nights, we have a good group of children coming from the bus routes, and they participate in the King’s Kids Club, memorizing Scripture and studying Bible doctrine. This year, they get to work very hard at winning a Bible for memorizing more than 40 Scripture passages. What a blessing it is to see these children grow in the Lord.

Public School Ministry

August 25-30, 2 evangelists visited us. Bro. Darrell Ratcliff and Bro. Caleb Amoros spent one week with us, taking the Gospel to public schools and a new neighborhood where we have been able to start a new bus route. During that week, we preached and gave a clear presentation of the Gospel to 3,258 people, and 2,286 people made public professions of faith. Our church was energized and encouraged as they participated in the soul-winning and evangelistic activities.

Revival!

September 15-17, we had a regional Revival Conference attended by 4 churches, along with our Iglesia Bautista Independiente de Santa Ana. Dad (Dr. Tommy Ashcraft), Pastor Luis Parada, Pastor Iñiguez, Pastor Rodrigo Garcia, and my good friend, Pastor Marc Johnston, took turns preaching in the evenings, not only to the adults and teens but also to the children. God met with us, and I have seen several church members stepping up and witnessing to people and bringing family and friends to church.

Children’s Day Celebration

Last Sunday, we had a Big Day celebrating the day of the children. Many adults and teens in church dressed up in costumes, and we had a special service just for the children. We had 178 attend, and 10 adults and children received Christ as Saviour. Praise the Lord!

Health Update

On July 7, I underwent surgery to improve blood circulation. We praise the Lord that the procedure helped, and I am healing well. One month later, I had eye surgery to relieve high pressure in my right eye. Praise the Lord, I am improving. To quote a fellow brave soul: “Getting old is not for the weak!” I do covet your prayers, because I have a great desire to continue serving God with a healthy body.

Daniel and Megan arrived back on the field this past Monday, October 13. One of the first conversations we had after they arrived was about starting a new Sunday school class for young college-and-career adults. Please pray for this very important part of our church family. The new class starts on Sunday, October 26.

Thank you for praying for us. Thank you for giving sacrificially for us to stay on the mission field of El Salvador.

Gladly in His service,

Henry Gonzalez
