I have always believed and have mentioned before that Spanish-speaking countries are, for the most part, very open to the Gospel of Christ, and if we could raise up more evangelists to preach Christ to the multitudes, then we could see a great harvest of souls for the Lord. Therefore, I was very excited when I had the opportunity once again to do an evangelistic campaign in public schools in the country of El Salvador with Pastor Gonzalez. The evangelistic campaign was for about five days, and we were able to preach the Gospel of Christ in several public schools and in other evangelistic meetings.
The exciting news is that we preached the Gospel to over 3,000 people; and, praise the Lord, the majority of them indicated that they were trusting Christ as their Saviour. To God be all the glory! Jesus said, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
Now, of course, discipleship and follow-up are very difficult when you preach in a school, because you are limited in what you can say and do, but praise the Lord, they will allow you to talk about the fact that Jesus loves them and gave His life so that they might have eternal life. We were able to give out thousands of portions of the Scripture to the students, and we know that the Lord says that His Word shall not return unto Him void. Please pray that the opportunity to speak in public schools in Central and South America and other parts of the world will remain open for taking the Gospel to every creature, as the Lord Jesus has commanded us to do.
Once again, my heart was truly burdened and stirred during this trip. As I mentioned before, I believe many Spanish-speaking countries are open to the Gospel of Christ, and many will allow you to preach in their public schools. When you consider that the majority of the people in these countries are under the age of 20, then it could be possible to preach the Gospel to literally millions and millions of people. So please pray fervently that the Lord would raise up more fiery evangelists and also churches to get involved to take the Gospel of Christ to the Spanish world and, for that matter, to the whole world.
