It is a blessing to write to you again and testify of God’s goodness in these past months.
Youth: One of our favorite things has always been ministering to the young generation of Christians. We love working with the youth—it is a ministry that always brings us joy. Every summer, my wife and I take advantage of the time to work with them more closely and to have meaningful activities to teach, encourage, and influence them in their walk with God. We hold meetings and classes and also involve them in some ministry so they can learn to serve the Lord.
In July, we took a group of young people to the National Youth Conference in Mexico City, held at Mount Zion Baptist Church. This is a conference we strive to attend every year with our youth because it is always a great blessing to them—they make decisions for God and are encouraged in their faith. This year, half of the group that attended were going to the conference for the first time; some were new believers. We thank God that we went and returned safely, and we were able to see that God spoke to their hearts and encouraged them to remain faithful to Him and to serve Him. Please help us pray for the youth of Durango—pray that we can reach more and be a good influence on this generation of young Christians.
Fanny is a young lady from our church, who, along with her mother, came to Christ through our ministry. Since she met Christ, God has been working in her life little by little, and she has been a faithful young woman, growing in the Lord and serving Him. She has been very close to us, always working alongside my wife in the Lord’s work. We rejoice that God has called her to serve Him full-time, and she expressed her desire to prepare herself in a Bible institute. In August, we were able to take Fanny to Mount Hebron Bible Institute in Monterrey, where we enrolled her and she began her first semester of classes. Glory to God for that! Please pray for her as she prepares at the Bible institute; pray that God will guide her life. She has been very happy these past weeks and is learning a lot.
Evangelism: Every week, we continue winning souls for Christ, both in group efforts on Fridays and Saturdays and just my wife and I at other times during the week. We thank God that every week, we see people confessing Jesus as their Saviour. We are working on teaching some of the young men and women how to win souls for Christ, encouraging them to get involved and share the Gospel. Our desire is to train others to become soul winners. We also thank God for Brother Miguel, who received Christ and was baptized in obedience to the Lord.
In August, we had the opportunity to have three meetings in the state of Iowa. It was a great blessing to participate in the Missions
Conference at Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington, Iowa. It was a great encouragement for us to visit this precious church with such a big heart for missions. We had the opportunity to present our ministry, and by God’s grace, we were taken on for support. We also visited Iglesia Bautista Adonai and Iglesia Faro de Esperanza in Des Moines, Iowa, both Spanish churches that love missions as well. It was a joy to visit these two churches and share the Word of God. We thank God for giving us these opportunities and for supplying every need when we have to travel.
We ask for your prayers for us as we serve the Lord. Thank you for your faithful support.
