Rey and Tess Garcia Prayer Letter: 8th Anniversary of FBC DaragaBecause of the heavy rains, flooding, and occasional landslides in our area, many of our outdoor activities had to be suspended to keep the members of FBC Daraga safe. In spite of these challenges, the Lord allowed us to celebrate the church’s 8th Anniversary on August 3, 2025. In the absence of Pastor Dennis Lagos, Missionary Anwar from Pakistan was our guest speaker. It was a victorious event marked by strong attendance, souls saved, powerful preaching, and abundant fellowship meals. Truly, all glory belongs to God!

The following week, we said a heartfelt goodbye to the church after serving there for 19 months. It was a difficult decision, but we believe God is leading us to assist other churches in need. During our time at FBC Daraga, by the grace of God, we were blessed to share the Gospel of salvation with about 1,459 souls. Some followed in water baptism and became members of the church.

As we returned to our hometown, we began visiting other fundamental Baptist churches in the area. One highlight was meeting another FBMI missionary, Pastor
Courtney Godsoe, now serving at Dasmariñas Baptist Church as the senior pastor. Their 20th Anniversary was a joyful celebration with a packed auditorium, excellent preaching, warm fellowship, and, most importantly, souls saved for the Lord.

I was also invited to preach at a Missions Conference in a local Bible Baptist church in northern Luzon. The 12-hour bus ride was long, but the joy of seeing young people surrender to God’s service and witnessing souls saved made every mile worthwhile. Even though the northern region speaks a different dialect, the Lord still allowed me to win 7 souls during Saturday soul winning. All of this is only possible by God’s mercy and grace.

Yet, in the midst of ministry blessings, we also faced trials. On August 19, 2025, Tess began experiencing constant chest and back pains, and she needed to see a cardiologist. After several tests, it was found out that she had severe multi-vessel coronary artery disease. The doctors strongly advised an immediate angiogram to determine the extent of the blockages and to acquire necessary treatment. However, due to the high cost of medical services in the Philippines, we prayerfully decided to take a medical furlough in the U.S. (August 22 – September 23, 2025). Tess’ procedure in the U.S. will be covered by our health insurance. This will also allow me to see my own doctors for much-needed checkups.

Please pray with us for . . .

• God’s mercy and grace to grant us good health.
• The power of the Holy Spirit as we seek another church to help.
• Many more souls to be saved.
• Open doors in public offices and schools for Bible studies.
• Spiritual growth and faithfulness among the new converts at FBC Daraga.
• God’s wisdom and guidance in every decision concerning the ministry.

Thank you for your prayers and faithful partnership.

For His glory,

Rey and Tess Garcia
