Thank you for the privilege of representing you in the Philippines. Your prayers and financial support have been instrumental in thousands of people trusting Christ, not only in the Philippines but also in other countries through our missionaries.
Our church saw 1,529 trust Christ through personal soul winning, our public-school ministry, funerals, and other venues during the months of May and June. It’s always a great joy to see new people sharing the Gospel and becoming involved in the ministry. It’s especially exciting to see the enthusiasm of our people to mentor and encourage younger Christians to grow in grace and serve the Lord.
An annual community event in our city is the Brigada Eskwela (“School Brigade”). People and organizations donate materials and volunteer manpower to prepare the public-school facilities for the coming school year. Our church people donated cleaning materials, paint, paintbrushes, brooms, dustpans, etc. and had 14 volunteers participate. Our music director, Jeremy Colonia, was especially popular with the teachers, as he brought an electric drill, screws, and other tools to make repairs. Among other things, he fixed 34 wobbly chairs. The highlight of the day was our people sharing the Gospel and seeing 70 other volunteers, teachers, and students receive Christ as Saviour.
We’ve been encouraging our people to memorize Scriptures based on specific topics and have set up reward and recognition for them as they accomplish milestones. We give a verbal test when they finish a section by asking a question, and they must recite the applicable verse. For example, if we ask them about God’s peace, they might quote Isaiah 26:3 or I Peter 5:7.
Could I ask you to please pray for more people, especially young people, to commit and surrender their lives to full-time service. I thank God for our faithful lay workers who do so much for the ministry, but there are so many more opportunities and needs in the Philippines and other countries throughout this part of the world. Please pray for new churches, pastors, missionaries, and full-time workers.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, help, and financial support to keep us in these amazing white harvest fields for all of these years. We can’t begin to express our gratitude.
Yours for souls,
Courtney & Ester Godsoe
