“The LORD gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.”
(Psalm 68:11)
On September 5 & 6, we held our 5th Annual BEST Missions Bible Conference once again at Colonial Baptist Church in Rogers, Arkansas. The church house was packed. There were 41 pastors, missionaries, and evangelists, along with many visitors from independent Baptist churches from across America.
The offering for Bibles this year at the conference was $40,995. On Wednesday, September 28, our 36th container of Scriptures arrived in Bangkok, Thailand. I want to thank Tan Juntasung personally for the great job he does, often working through the night to get the boxes of Scriptures unloaded at our distribution center. He then notifies pastors and missionaries to let them know Bibles are available and ready for distribution.
I drove to Denver, Colorado, to preach a Missions Conference for my longtime friend, Pastor Cory Seulean. It was their 15th Missions Conference. This great church has been faithful to “stay by the stuff.
Please be in prayer for an upcoming Bible-translation project for a restricted-access nation. It will be the first time the Bible has been translated into this language. This great project will provide the first Bible available for the people in this area of the world.
We still have a number of containers of Scripture needing to be shipped overseas. Please be in prayer for this great need.
The first week of October found me once again in Whitesburg, Georgia, with our good friend, Pastor Dexter Landers. His great church always makes me feel at home. They have given thousands of dollars to BEST Missions down throughout the years.
That week, I was also privileged to preach for Pastor Seth Bunch at Cloverleaf Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia. What a blessing these great folks were to the work of God!
This month, I attended the East Texas Baptist Fellowship. I was also invited to preach at a KJV Conference. What a blessing to be around men who believe the Word of God!
I had my sixth back surgery on October 25. The doctor said it would take three months to heal. All I need to do is try to let it heal, so I can begin to feel “normal” again.
The rains always come to Thailand in October, which brings much flooding. My wife and I lost everything we had in October of 2011. Tan, my friend of over 20 years and my distribution manager in Thailand, lost everything he owned this month when his apartment was flooded. He lost all of his furniture and his car. I’m praying for God to touch the hearts of several pastors and supporters to take an offering for Tan to replace his possessions and get back on his feet. It would be such a blessing! I will be sure that every dime of any offering sent to my account and marked “TAN/Flood” will get to him. Thank you!
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support for our ministry. We love you and thank God for each one of you.
Into all the world,
Bob Bowen
