SERVING IN MEXICO

Olivia Birthday 05/17

I grew up in a Christian home. At the age of 4 years old I knelt beside my dad ́s bed and he led me to Christ. As a child most my memories revolved the church. My family was very active in our local church. One of my favorite times of the year was our annual Missions Conference. In March of 2002, at the age of 12 years old, while attending our Missions Conference I surrendered my life to serve God as a missionary. I had no idea at that time where God would lead me, all I knew was that He had called me to missions.

While attended Bible college, I was around many Hispanics. Through having friends who were Hispanic, and many bus kids who were Hispanic as well, God began to place a burden on my heart for the Spanish people.

In the spring of 2009 I had the opportunity to take my first missions trip with a group from my bible college. We spent a few days in Honduras, and the rest of our trip was spent with a group of missionaries in the country of Belize. While in Belize I had the chance to go soulwinning, help in the children ́s ministry, as well help the men of the church construct a new auditorium for the church.

Since June of 2017 I ́ve had the privilege to be a part of the Spanish department of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. While attended there I ́ve been able to sing in the choir, as well as sing as a soloist. I ́ve worked in the children ́s church, teen department, bus ministry, etc. All while being able to learn and improve my Spanish.

In the fall of 2019 I went to Mexico for the first time. I spent a month there traveling some 1,200 miles throughout the country, visiting different churches. One of the churches that I visited during this trip was the Iglesia Buatista Liberted ( Liberty Baptist Church ) in Teotihuacan, Mexico. The pastor there is Pastor Adolfo Lima. God really touched my heart while there, and I believe that He would have me to return to this church and to serve along side this pastor for the time being.

Thank you so much for your considered partnership in the call of God upon my life. I prayer that together we can further the gospel in your community, and around the world.

Sincerly,

Adam and Karen DePaolis Prayer Letter: Three Years in Mexico!

Adam and Karen DePaolis Prayer Letter: Three Years in Mexico! The more that time goes by, the more I am convinced of the fact that what we do would be impossible without you. As I take time to reflect on the past three years since I moved to Mexico (June 7 will be three years), I can see now how God was using the circumstances in our lives to teach us to depend totally on Him. When we first got married and applied for my wife’s visa, it was a like a kick in the gut when they told us that we would have to wait two years for her visa appointment. That became the beginning of God bringing us to complete dependence upon Him. We were only at 10% of our support goal, with four supporting churches. There were countless times when I had no idea what to do or how to provide for my family. There were just as many times when God proved Himself faithful. I still have no idea how we made it to this point. The only thing that accounts for it is the grace of God and you, our supporters. I would like to take a moment to personally thank the four churches that have supported us since the beginning: Sylvania Hills Baptist Church, Rochester, Pennsylvania; First Baptist Church, Hammond, Indiana; Lighthouse Baptist Church, Gary, Indiana; and First Baptist Church, Creve Coeur, Illinois. Thank you for your faithfulness to Lord and for your love, prayers and support for these past three years.

April

The month of April started off busy for us. We were able to make a trip back to Mexico for two weeks to help out with the annual Youth Conference at the church in Mexico. We had a great conference, with about 150 teenagers in attendance. Many decisions were made, and several surrendered to full-time service. Upon returning to the U.S., we headed out West, starting out in Colorado and then going to Wyoming, Idaho, and Utah. The Lord truly blessed us during the month of April. We presented and preached in seven different churches, traveling nearly 3,000 miles. Two of those seven churches voted to take us on for support.

May

The month of May was busy as well. We started out in California and then went to Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and then back to California. We visited eight churches; three of those churches stated that they will be voting about taking us on for support. Please pray that God will continue to help us raise our support quickly. God has blessed us immensely, and I know that He will continue to do so. We only ask for your prayers.

We started out in January at 10% of our support goal. We are officially at 32%, with another 5% to 10% promised. Also, please continue to pray for my wife’s visa situation as we work on getting her legal residency.

Thank you for your faithfulness and partnership. May God continue to bless you and your church.
