September and October were definitely the busiest months in our calendar this year. We started September with a Missions Conference in Canton, Georgia, and finished the rest of the month locally in churches in Michigan. October took us to the West Coast in California, then to Arizona and New York, ending the month in Connecticut. We were able to see the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean in the same month! In these two months, we traveled a total of 11,925 miles and visited at least 11 churches.
In September, Berean Baptist Church of Adrian, Michigan, made a way for us to go to the Servants’ Retreat in Mackinac Island, Michigan. What a privilege it was to get to spend time with the staff of BBC and also get to spend time with Dr. and Mrs. Tom Williams. They are a great couple doing a great job for the Lord! We also got to meet many men of God who pastor in Michigan, and we were able to acquire new meetings through this retreat.
This is a story I can’t help but tell. Unbeknownst to me, the Chase Missionary Circle had been planning to acquire gifts to flood my family with at their Missions Harvest Party. One gift was something that I had desired for such a long time. For a while now, because of working on videos at my home church, I’ve understood the concept of “mine eye affecteth mine heart.” Videos are such a powerful tool to get a message across. To get to the next level of video making, I wanted a professional drone. Bro. Chase had been shopping for one on Craigslist and found a prospective one. He contacted the man who was selling it. After conversing with one another, they both had a “powerful God moment.” The man decided to give it as a gift—he thought about what this little drone could do to “spread the Word”! My heart broke when they presented it to me and shared with me the story. I can’t wait to start using it in my ministry and to help other ministries get the message of Christ to a lost and dying world.
We have so much to be thankful for! We have been humbled time and time again at the magnitude of God’s blessing. Recently, we had been praying for a new vehicle, as our current one is ready to give up the ghost. The Lord allowed us to meet Bro. Chris from Palmyra, New York. As I’m writing this, he is getting a vehicle ready, which he acquired for us for a very affordable price, a vehicle that will last awhile, even through our time on deputation. Praise the Lord!
All the churches we’ve visited have just been so good to us, and there are so many stories to tell. These are just a couple stories that help us understand that God is still in the business of answering prayers and fulfilling our desires. In October, my wife’s grandfather, Keith Horton, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly. We praise the Lord for Heaven and that we’ll be reunited again. In these two months, we were able to lead 12 to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. While out door knocking, we also met many people who were already saved and needed the assurance of their salvation. It shows how important it is to teach eternal security.
Social media has been a great tool for us, and if you want to see what the Lord is doing in our lives on a more regular basis, you can follow us on Facebook at Tingsons2Australia. Thank you for your prayers and for your support!
Please pray for us on deputation. Pray that we will raise support quickly, and pray for more meetings for 2019.
Your servant in Christ,
Garry Tingson
