We started the month of March at Victory Baptist Church in Inverness, Florida. It was a pleasure to be with Pastor Groves and his family. What talented, hardworking servants of God they are! We take joy in serving at the churches we visit, but VBC chose to spoil us at their Missions Conference. It was a great joy to see a church with a great heart for missions. At the conclusion of the conference, Victory Baptist Church gifted us with the largest love gift we’ve ever received! The night before this, I was talking to my dad in Australia and asked him to start looking for a minivan for us for when we get there. I didn’t know where the funds would come from, but the Lord answered that for me!
Our next meeting was in Franklinville, North Carolina, at Clear View Baptist Church. Pastor and Mrs. Dickerson are faithful servants of the Lord who just took on this church in recent years. The church has seen great growth recently, and their heart for missions has grown also. I had the honor to preach for their Missions Conference, and I believe the Lord met with us in a very special way!
We traveled back home to Michigan for a few days before joining Faith Baptist Church in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, to be at their Missions Conference. While out soul winning in Milwaukee, I had the honor of leading Hugo to the Lord. He was clearly searching for answers, and he got the most important one resolved that day! Uncertainty about the Coronavirus started to loom before our first service on Sunday. We had a great, strong start despite the circumstances. Restrictions on meeting in large crowds started to take place around the country. Our last service was done by live stream, but we just had a great time together with those who could attend. We ended the conference with four of us missionaries, who are going to four different continents, singing “Jesus Is Coming Soon.” What an experience it was to be with FBC and to see their great heart for missions!
We’ve had our upcoming meetings canceled due to the restrictions in place; but we are trusting in the Lord, and we know He has everything under control. We’re extremely thankful for those churches that still sent us a love gift despite canceling and for Loomis Park Baptist Church, which recently sent us a large gift! I praise the Lord for my in-laws, who have allowed us to stay at their home during this time of quarantine. If we can help you in any way, please let us know. I encourage you to get close to the Lord at this time. Pray for one another. Do not fear, but have confidence in an all-powerful God!
Your servant in Christ,
Garry Tingson
