Truly, we are grateful for last year! We ended the year with 118 salvation decisions and 6 baptisms, and 121 people visited our church for the year! This year already, 17 have come to the Lord, and 20 have visited our church. We are rejoicing in the goodness of God! Thank you for your help and for every prayer that comes our way. We certainly want fruit to abound to your account!
It Was a Busy Christmas!
Mary Beth and I took a nine-day trip to Israel this month with a tour sponsored by our sending church, the First Baptist Church of Hammond. This trip was a life-changer and gave us a new perspective concerning the history of Israel in the past and in the prophecies of the future. Immediately afterwards, we were thrust back into a busy Christmas season with our son Jeremy, who was home for Christmas. We hosted many events during Christmas, and it was certainly a blessing for Jeremy to share his musical skills. Our folks enjoyed a big Junior Church Christmas party with a nativity play, an evening Carol Service which was well attended, and singing at two hospitals to raise money for a charity that helps newborn and premature babies. Thank you for your prayers as we witnessed to these dear people during the Christmas season.
Spring Roundup
Each January includes our Fellowship Sunday. We come together for special homemade soups after the service. This is an important time to rejoice and give thanks to God for our church friendships and family. What a great crowd! And then February always brings our annual Spring Roundup! It is our chance to decorate with all our U.S. cowboy-themed items and bring out the games. We encouraged families to come together and get to know each other. This time we enjoyed hot dogs and sausages, as well as a “campfire” time with guitar songs and preaching.
Family News
Our family may be spread all over the place just now, but we are sincerely united in God’s Spirit. We rejoice to know that the Solt team is still serving wherever they are. Dan and Rachel are moving quickly through the States on their deputation trail. This is amazing to watch. Dan’s hard work and willing spirit are very evident. God is providing in a blessed way for their family. Josh is working along at his new job in Iowa, and he is settling in to being helpful and useful in the church media and bus ministry. Jeremy is serving at Hyles-Anderson College with music, the bus ministry, and Sunday school. May God be glorified in and through the efforts of the Solt family. May our supporters be encouraged and blessed!
Yours for souls,
The Solt Family
