Thank you very much for your prayers and support over the past two months. The Lord has done some wonderful things.
I started visiting churches in the United States on September 2, and as usual, I have been amazed at how the Lord works. I have done some fundraising trips for our children’s home in Guadalajara, but I have not done much for my own support. Traveling all over Mexico and helping the new church in Chihuahua get started since the first of the year has left me with a huge deficit between monthly support and expenses. It was my sending-church pastor, Dr. Dean Noonan, who suggested that I take a few months to visit churches this fall. I still have some gaps in my schedule, so if any of you would like me to come and give a report, I would be happy to do so.
Although I have been very busy, by the grace of God, I have still taken time each day to go soul winning. I must say that I have been a little disappointed in the response of the people in the United States to the Gospel. On the other hand, it might serve as a great encouragement to the way the Lord is working on the other side of the border; nevertheless, the Lord has opened some hearts here. On a Sunday night at a restaurant after a meeting with a supporting church, the Lord led me to talk to a lady who was 102 years old. She had waited a long time to hear the Gospel, but she insisted and decided that night in spite of dissuasion from a family member. The next Wednesday night after church at a grocery store, the Lord crossed my path with a family under conviction, with connections to the same church, and they all wanted to be saved.
I have also kept in contact with the new church in Chihuahua, and the Lord has given them visitors in every service since the church’s inception! A team of five from Dr. Ramos’s church arrived the day after I left, and they had a special emphasis for Mexican Independence Day, with over 80 first-time visitors on that Sunday. They are getting close to chartering.
