“In regard to this Great Book, I have but to say, I believe the Bible is the best gift God has given to man. All the good Saviour gave to the world was communicated through this Book. But for it we could not know right from wrong. All things most desirable for man’s welfare, here and hereafter, are to be found portrayed in it.” – Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States (1861-1865) It goes without saying, we are living in unprecedented times. Praise God for those who have gone on before us, who have recognized the timeless value of the BOOK!
We are thankful that, within a 12-mile radius of Coastline Baptist Church, there are more than 60,000 people to reach with the Gospel message. By revising our scope and some of our church’s soul-winning goals, we are soon to reach people in the town of Ulverstone, which has a population of 15,000 souls. Jabez, in I Chronicles 4:10, asked the LORD to enlarge his coast. Given that God granted Jabez’s prayer, what is stopping us from making a similar request?
We are thankful for visitors the Lord has been bringing. At least three have started coming on a regular basis. This is a picture of a recent Sunday afternoon service. We are especially thankful that the Lord has allowed us to escape the strict lockdowns imposed on many states on the mainland, at least for now. We don’t want to take for granted being able to meet freely for church.
Please pray for:
o The Lord to prepare hearts in Ulverstone as we begin to target this area with the Gospel.
o More visitors to come and become regular attenders.
o Michael, a man in his 40s with Down syndrome and dementia, who has recently suffered a seizure. He is in a care home nearby. His parents are faithful members of the church.
o Laura’s health. She recently completed 25 radiation treatments but has to wait several weeks to have scans to see if the treatment has been successful.
Thank you once more for your prayer support to reach the lost in this corner of the globe.
All for our Saviour and King,
Bro. Andrew Steers
