Dustin came to know Christ as his Saviour at Bethel Baptist Church through the means of an AWANA program when he was in 3rd grade. Dustin’s family was reached by their sending church in 2004 through a VBS program, and they have attended ever since. Dustin was called to full-time Christian service at a First Baptist Church of Hammond Youth Conference. Dustin was called to the mission field at a Shawnee Baptist Church Youth Conference in 11th grade. This eventually led him to study at Hyles-Anderson College, where he majored in missions, minored in pastoral theology, and met his wife Hilda.

Hilda grew up in a pastor’s home and came to know the Lord as her Saviour when she was five years old. She got the assurance of her salvation during her first year at Hyles-Anderson College. Hilda always had a heart for the ministry and told God she would do whatever He wanted her to do, as long as He showed her. She graduated from Hyles-Anderson College with a degree in education and secretarial work and was ready to move home and work at her father’s church in Sacramento, California, but was swept off her feet by her now husband.

  • Dustin and Hilda Schurg Prayer Letter: A Month Full of God's Blessings and Opportunities!November has been a wonderful month, a month full of God’s blessings and opportunities! We are excited to share with you some highlights and prayer requests as we look forward to the great things God has in store for 2025.

    Recap

This month brought many reasons to rejoice. My wife and I celebrated eight years of marriage and enjoyed a special night out together to mark the occasion. Thanksgiving was another highlight, as we spent it with my wife’s family in Sacramento. Staying with my in-laws has been a blessing, helping us save on hotel costs, while giving our children the priceless gift of time with their grandparents during the holiday season. We also made significant progress scheduling meetings for 2025, and we’re thankful for the new opportunities to share the vision for the work in Panama.

    Praises

Salvations: We rejoice that 12 people received Christ as their Saviour this month!
New Partnerships: Two new churches have committed to supporting our ministry.
Answered Prayer: We’ve received an offer on our house and are praying for a smooth process.
Opportunities: We were able to present at several churches this month and to continue being a blessing wherever God leads us.

    Prayer Requests

Protection: Please pray for safety as we travel, especially during this busy season.
Scheduling: We ask for prayer as we continue planning our 2025 meetings, trusting God to guide us to the right churches.
Gospel Opportunities: Pray that God continues to provide opportunities to share His Word and that many more will come to Christ.
Health: Please pray for relief from the hip pain I’ve been experiencing and for wisdom in addressing it.

We are grateful for your faithful prayers and support. Your partnership means so much to us, and we thank God for each of you. May He bless you and your ministries richly as you serve Him.

    In Christ,

    Dustin Schurg
