When Kim and I came to the Philippines over 20 years ago, it was with love, faith, and excitement. We went to language school in Metro Manila, a city of almost 20 million people, for 14 months. We were able to study the language while going soul winning and teaching Sunday school in a local church.
Then in May of 2004, we went to La Trinidad, Benguet, which is about an 8-hour drive from Manila. We started going door-to-door soul winning and having home Bible studies for 6 months in 3 different areas of our city. In February of 2005, Highland Baptist Church had over 100 attend its Grand Opening service, with dozens and dozens of people calling on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. We invited Pastor and Mrs. Godsoe as the speaker for our opening service, and 20 years, later he preached our Missions Conference.
This year, we were able to take on two missionaries. The first couple, Pastor and Mrs. Dapyawen, graduated from our Bible college and are now going to Mongolia. We also took on another Filipino missionary for financial support; they are going to Sierra Leone. The average daily wage here in the Philippines is about $9.00 – $10.00 a day, so for our people to sacrifice and take on almost 40 missionaries is a miracle from the Lord.
The church continues going soul winning, reaching our neighborhoods through home Bible studies, and reaching our town with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We thank you for your sacrifice in financially supporting our work here in the Philippines. Only in Heaven will we know how your treasures were being laid up for all eternity.
Your missionaries to the Philippines,
Mark and Kim Palmani
Anastasia, Rachel, and AJ Palmani
