Happy Thanksgiving! May the Lord bless you as you stop for a moment and give thanks for the great things He has done in your life: provision, protection, purpose, opportunity, and, not in the least, eternal life. We have an amazing Saviour, a wonderful God!Thank you for those of you who have faithfully supported us for many years through prayer and financial support. We are thankful our ministry has expanded in the last few years to include the Pastors’ Practical Training Academy. This is where we train national pastors in correct doctrine and the practical role of a pastor.
We are teaching those who aspire to be pastors, or those who have taken on the role of pastor without sufficient training, to grow in knowledge and understanding and to mature spiritually. It is such a blessing to watch these men as the Holy Spirit works in their lives and ministries. Recently, we reached the halfway mark of the PPTA for the current class, which is very encouraging.
When we started the PPTA, we did so with the objective of multiplying the Lord’s work and spreading the Gospel through multiple churches across Kenya at the same time. We also wanted to set in place an ongoing ministry with national pastors teaching aspiring pastors and church workers through the local church and through the PPTA. It is very encouraging to see pastors from our first group of graduates now applying what they have learned to their local church, while also assisting with the training of the current PPTA class.
With success comes added responsibility. We are trying to expand the training, as well as support selected pastors as they strive to see their churches grow. These men have next to no income, and their local areas are agriculturally based with little employment, making it next to impossible for them to have a church building. As the Lord provides, it is our goal to help build three local church buildings across Western Kenya to facilitate both the local church and also use the same building to train pastors through the PPTA for future generations. It only costs about $16,000 to build a permanent church building using a prefabricated steel roof and pillars. If the Lord would lay it upon your heart to assist our brothers and sisters and fellow labourers in Christ in Kenya, please call me on my U.S. phone number: (219) 308-5005.
Currently, we are back in the U.S. for the first time in 5 years for our first furlough. Lindsay is 19 and learning to drive, Melody and I are putting personal and medical issues in order, and we will soon be looking to visit new and supporting churches before we return to Kenya to finish some of the projects I mentioned above. Team member, Brandon Heselschwerdt, has taken over the responsibility for the PPTA and is doing an excellent job with the Kenyan pastors.
There is a lot going on, and I give thanks to our Lord for allowing us to be part of taking the Gospel to Kenya and preparing Kenyans to serve Kenyans and our Lord Jesus Christ through their local churches across the country.Thank you and God bless you as you partner with us in our endeavor to see the Gospel spread across Kenya, East Africa.

In this video (https://youtu.be/_NS98hTcX60), Kalenjin Pastor John Kirui and Maasai Pastor Samson Naimado are baptizing a Maasai warrior (Chief) and a recently saved Maasai lady. Pastor takes the time to preach the Gospel to the crowd before baptizing. Finding deep water in Maasai land is no easy task.
In the service of our Saviour, your co-laborers in Christ,
Peter, Melody, and Lindsay Morris
- Pastor Elphas Odero is a graduate of the PPTA. He, like a number of other graduates, is struggling to build a church building for his growing congregation. This is a temporary church building, as he does not have the resources to build a permanent building. Note the distance between the roof trusses and the quality of the timber. This is not allowed under the building-code regulations in the U.S., but it is common practice in rural Kenya. It is better than having to sit in the sun or the rain or squeeze into a church member’s home. It will most probably double the church’s attendance in the short term and be a huge blessing to those who are faithful church members. Please pray for these pastors who simply want to serve our Lord and see people saved and help their church members grow, both in grace and in number.
