Luis and Carolina Martinez Prayer Letter: God Is Faithful

thumbnail of Luis Martinez October 2024 Prayer LetterI Corinthians 10:13 says, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

I pray you are doing well when you receive this prayer letter. My family and I are doing very well, and we greatly appreciate your prayers. Thank you for praying for the health of my wife and daughter. They will both be traveling to the United States during the month of November to get checked.

Recently, I was visiting two of our church ladies in an elderly home when I noticed a man who had just moved in. He told me his name was Moses. I immediately told him that his name was in the Bible and started quoting John 3:14-16. He allowed me to witness to him. I took him to I John 5:13 and then through the Romans Road. Then he prayed the sinner’s prayer and was sweetly saved. He then thanked me for sharing the Gospel with him, and I thanked him for listening.

While making a follow-up visit on one of our routes, I noticed a man just kept looking at our church van. I stopped the van, walked up to him, and gave him a tract. He told me his name was Geraldo and that he was away from God. I asked him if he knew Christ as his personal Saviour and if he was sure he would go to Heaven when he died, and he said he was not sure. After about 20 minutes, Geraldo put his trust in Jesus.

On a recent Saturday, we hosted a Pastors’ and Missionaries’ Meeting. My goal was to be an encouragement and a blessing to these servants of God. Our church ladies prepared a delicious breakfast and lunch. Then we shared testimonies, blessings, and ideas and were challenged from the Word of God.

PRAYER REQUESTS

• Please pray for Willie! I led Willie to Christ several months ago. He’s been attending church faithfully, and I’ve been discipling him. However, he doesn’t seem to be ready to get baptized.
• Please pray for our Fence Project! The project is halfway done. The cost of the project is US$25,000. Our church has given, and we have raised US$15,000. Please pray for the remaining US$10,000 that is needed to complete this project. I would love for this fence to be completed by the end of the year.
• Please pray for a conference I will be attending in the Philippines during the month of November. On my return, I will be stopping in Hawaii to visit my son Jay who teaches in a Christian academy.

May God continue to bless you as you serve Him faithfully. Thank you for loving us and for being such faithful givers. Thank you for investing in our family and in Puerto Rico. Thank you very much for your love, prayers, and faithful support. God bless you.

In Christ,

Luis M. Martinez
