We hope this letter finds you doing well in the Lord, as we also are. Thank you for your continued interest and support for what we are doing in Guatemala.

The Lord has opened yet another door for us where the need is truly great. This opportunity is located in the area of El Petén, Guatemala, which is about 350 kilometers north from where we are. Some of you may remember my having helped a brother, Pastor Carlos Calles, start a new Baptist church in Rio Negro, Morales, Izabal, some years ago. Since that time, Bro. Calles has done some pioneering missionary activity in this area of El Petén and asked my help to see about starting a Baptist church there.

We took a team there last month and saw good results, with 150 saved in the schools and elsewhere, one of whom was a medical doctor. Others were saved during soul winning and at the preaching service we held at one place in the area called San Roman, Sayaxché, El Petén. We saw a good attendance at the meeting, and I have decided to invest in this opportunity with labor, resources, and people from our church.

Please pray about this new open door. Later this month, we expect to have a big day at two proposed sites belonging to this new work, one in San Roman and another in a place called La Soledad.

We thank you also for your ongoing prayers for a piece of land in San José Pinula and for a new reliable vehicle for transportation.

“. . . estad así firmes en el Señor . . . .” (Filipenses 4:1)

El Señor nos abrió otra puerta donde la necesidad es realmente grande. Esta oportunidad se encuentra en una zona de EL Petén, Guatemala.

A unos 350 kilómetros al norte de donde estamos. Algunos de ustedes recordaran que hace un tiempo atrás ayude a un hermano pastor, el pastor Carlos Calles a iniciar una nueva obra bautista en Rio Negro, Morales, Izabal. Desde entonces, el hermano Calles ha realizado una labor misionera en la zona de El Petén y me ha pedido ayuda para iniciar una iglesia bautista en esa área.

El mes pasado llevamos un equipo y obtuvimos buenos resultados, con ciento cincuenta personas salvas en las escuelas y otros lugares, entre ellas un médico . Otras personas fueron salvas durante la evangelización y en el servicio de predicación que tuvimos en el lugar llamado San Roman, Sayaxché, En Petén. He decidido invertir en esta oportunidad con trabajo, recursos y personas de nuestra iglesia.

Por favor oren por esta nueva puerta abierta. A finales de este mes esperamos tener un día grande en dos sitios propuestos que pertenecen a este nuevo trabajo, uno en San Roman y otro en un lugar llamado La Soledad.
