I grew up in a broken home and did not attend church as a child. Once I got into my teen years, a family friend asked me to come to a teen event at a church and told me there was going to be pizza. So, like any teen I was going for the pizza. When I got to the church, I saw that there were a lot of games. I went and played some of them. As the pizza got there to the church all the teens were called in to hear a message. As I was heading to my seat, I saw a friend standing in the front. I sat down in the seat and watched my friend as he began to speak. He started to talk about how he was a sinner and that he was going to go to hell. As he was speaking about sin, I realized I was a sinner, and that hell was going to be my home. I started to cry and believed the Lord could not love me. The man that invited me saw me crying and came to me. He asked me what was wrong, and I replied with “I am going to hell.” Then the man told me that I do not have to go to hell. He said that Jesus died for me and gave His life for me. He then showed me the Romans road and that I could ask Jesus to be my Savior. I did that night.

I was called to the mission field when I was 22 years old. The Lord was working in my heart to go to college and study missions. As I was at college the Lord was working in my heart about helping churches with the bus ministry. I worked in the bus ministry the whole time I was in college and many times our bus broke down. During those times sitting in a broken-down bus, I was wishing I could help. I finished my degree in missions and the Lord opened the door for me to get my trade degree in auto mechanics and diesel mechanics. I prayed that the Lord would use this degree in helping me on the mission field. I started working on buses right after I graduated and realized the Lord could use me in helping churches with their buses. I then called around and started asking churches if they could use a mechanic. Many churches replied and said they would love for me to come. I knew at that time the Lord was calling me to help churches with mechanics and to train the next generation in this trade. My wife and I and our four children are starting deputation to Keep the Buses Going all around the United States and serve in local churches helping with soul winning, bus mechanics, bus ministry, teens, children’s ministry, and music. We appreciate your support for us.

  • Marco and Lauretta Hannel Prayer Letter: Thank You for Your Faithfulness in Giving This Past Year!To Our Financial Supporters

Thank you! We appreciate your faithfulness in giving to our financial needs this year. We could not have accomplished all that God has given us without your support. Thank you to those of you who specifically sent gifts and cards to us! We love receiving things by mail from you! We sincerely hope you had a blessed Christmas and a wonderful time reflecting on all that God has done this past year.

    November Missions Conference

We were grateful to be at the meetings of our sending church’s Missions Conference, and we especially enjoyed having our missions director, Mark Bosje, as the main speaker. The week was filled with times of sweet fellowship and many helpful messages from God’s Word.

    Painting in Wisconsin

I had the privilege to help Northwoods Baptist Church with maintenance on their bus and take it down to Chicago to paint it. I received helpful instruction and got to paint my first bus. I was also able to work on a bus route at the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, and lead two kids to the Lord!

    Kentucky

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the people of Vision Valley Baptist Church. We had the opportunity to help them get their bus in order before winter—it snowed as we were leaving! I found a tire issue and fixed the heating and electrical issues they were having. We were able to spend the entire day on Sunday with them, including being in children’s church and preaching twice. We were also able to witness during their Saturday soul-winning time.

    Cedar Ridge Baptist Church

Helping lead the kids’ program on a Friday night at Cedar Ridge Baptist Church was exciting! We had pizza and competition, and we brought out Buddy the puppet before teaching from God’s Word about Jesus being our Light. We were thrilled to spend the evening with them, and we look forward to visiting them again soon!
