“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23) As we made the transition from one year into another, we can honestly say that God has been faithful to us.
As we finished 2024, God gave us a great year. We saw more than 5,600 souls saved in our various outreaches, including our Thursday evening and Saturday morning church-wide soul-winning times. We had 655 public professions of faith in our church services and 266 baptized for the year.
Filipinos love Christmas, and we had a special Christmas program on Sunday, December 22. Our church family did a great job putting together an hour of special music with the theme of Mary Had a Little Lamb. Bro. DeMoville preached the Gospel, and many were saved that evening.
As is our tradition, we all met together on New Year’s Eve from 5:00 p.m. until past midnight with food, singing, fun skits, and testimonies. We thanked God for His faithfulness during 2024 and rededicated ourselves to winning souls and discipling believers during 2025.
In January, we took two separate Sundays to celebrate our church’s 14th anniversary. On the 19th, we spent the whole day together with a “potluck meal,” testimonies, and preaching. On the 26th, we had a “big day” during which we had an attendance of 725, with many public professions of faith and baptisms. It helped to get our new year off to a great start.
Our college began a new semester in January, and the students have shown a great spirit and eagerness to serve the Lord. I enjoyed teaching a course on the Pastoral Epistles and a second week of classes on Biblical counseling. It is a joy to watch as, over four years, our students grow in their knowledge and faith during their training for ministry in a local, fundamental Baptist church.
Our radio ministry continues to grow, with our FM station reaching out to our entire area. Every Saturday evening, we use our station to gather our people around their radios and devices for a prayer time to which they can send their requests. We have seen many answers to prayer as our people labor on Saturday to invite and share the Gospel and then ask the Lord to bless our efforts on the Lord’s Day.
The Lord continues to bless my far-flung family. God is blessing my 3 missionary children with fruitful ministries. The number of grandchildren continues to grow, with 19 and 3 on the way! Praise the Lord!
On Christmas Day, instead of having others in my home, a newlywed couple invited me to join them. It was a special day where I enjoyed their fellowship and reflected on the fact that they are both graduates of our Bible college and are serving on our church staff. It is wonderful to have fruit that remains!
Thank you for your faithful support in prayer and finances over the years. May we all serve the Lord with gladness in 2025.
Your missionary in the Philippines,
Scott Christiansen
