PRAYER LETTERS
LATEST
We are very grateful for how God has been working since we began deputation. I want to thank every church that has welcomed us and also each one that has taken us on for support. Thank you for your love for missions. We have been praying that God would continue to give us souls during our time here, and we have had several opportunities to go soul winning throughout the weeks. Let me share a few. I had the opportunity to meet and share the Gospel with Felipe. He had attended the Catholic church for years and strongly believed in salvation by works. After I explained the Gospel, he seemed to understand, but please pray for him, as he has not yet made a decision for Christ.
My wife and I were also able to go out soul winning together several times. In Ohio on one of our trips, we met a woman named Molly, who had attended various denominations over the course of her life. We were able to share the Gospel with her, and she gave us her testimony of salvation. Please pray for her spiritual growth.
During one of our soul-winning outings, we went to a Hispanic neighborhood. Everyone there spoke Spanish and very little English, which made things difficult since we speak Portuguese and English. However, I was surprised when, while we were speaking with Abby, my wife was able to talk and testify the Gospel to her in Spanish.
I also want to thank you for your prayers for safe travels. We had two very busy months, traveling to various states, and God took very good care of us. We were able to participate in three Missions Conferences, one of which was in Michigan. All of the missionaries present preached to the young people at the Christian school. Each message was tremendous, and many young people made decisions during the invitation.
Many people have asked us about our social media. If you would like to follow us, we have a Facebook page, “Oliveiras to Brazil,” where you can follow us. We are posting more often about what’s happening throughout the weeks.I also want to share and ask for prayer for something incredible that happened this November from the USA to Nigeria. The Lord gave me an opportunity, through a lady in our church from Brazil, to reach another lady by the name of Maria in Portugal. She lives in Portugal, and she got saved. After understanding salvation, she called her daughter, who is married and lives in Nigeria, to tell her about Christ. At the moment, I am trying to help Maria find a good Biblical church over there in Portugal. Please pray with us about this.
We are very encouraged and excited by all that God has been doing. Without a doubt, we are eager to secure all of our support and return to Brazil as soon as possible. However, it is wonderful to see God’s hand during this deputation period.
Once again, thank you to every church that has welcomed us and also to every church that has taken us on for support.
Prayer Requests
• We are glad that Karlene’s parents are here with us in the USA. They are on furlough for a few months; pray for their travels and their reports to the churches.
• God has blessed us with several meetings for next year, but there is still space in the calendar. Pray with us that we can fill it.
• Please continue to pray that God would continue to give us power to reach people wherever we are.For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord,”
